HX DOS Extender

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HX DOS Extender is a free 32-bit - DOS extender , similar to DOS / 4G, CWSDPMI , DOS / 32A, WDOSX and more. The almost unique property of the HX DOS Extender is that it can start some programs written for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows under DOS . Since the simulation of the Windows graphical user interface has not yet been developed very far, the HX DOS Extender has so far mainly been used for command line programs. Some programs that only use the Windows interfaces to display their own graphic user interface can also run without restrictions.

The program and all source texts are "freely available for all [in case of doubt non-commercial] purposes", so they do not require any additional usage authorization (or software license ).
