Hackus and Knieste is a simple dish typical of the Harz region . It mainly consists of carefully cleaned, halved, oil-coated potatoes ( knees ) seasoned with salt and caraway seeds , which are baked on a baking sheet at around 200 ° C for one hour in the stove.
