Hakim triad
The Hakim triad describes the main symptoms of a chronic increase in intracranial pressure, primarily caused by hydrocephalus . The symptoms described by Colombian neurosurgeon Solomon Hakim are as follows:
- Dementia ("curable", reversible dementia)
- Urinary incontinence
- Gait disorder
The Hakim triad can be observed particularly in so-called normal pressure hydrocephalus .
