Hale observatory

The Hale Observatories are two observatories on Mount Wilson and Mount Palomar in California . The astronomer George Ellery Hale is the founder of the two observatories. With the Hooker reflector on Mount Wilson (diameter of the main mirror : 2.5 meters) and the 5-meter mirror of the Hale telescope on Mount Palomar, they were each equipped with the world's largest telescope for around thirty years . In 1970 the two observatories were renamed in honor of Hale.
