Handbook Of Ecological Concepts

The Handbook Of Ecological Concepts (short: HOEK ) is an international research and publication project that was founded in 2002. The aim is to improve communication and understanding between people with different professional backgrounds who are interested in ecology . The project was promoted by the UFZ Leipzig and the TU Darmstadt . Its goals are to present the historical and recent meaning of ecological terms, to improve the conceptual basis of ecology, to connect different disciplines of ecological research with users and to advance the discourse on philosophy and the historical background of scientific ecology.
