The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation ( Russian Торгово-промышленная палата Российской Федерации ) is, as the central organization of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, a self-governing body under public law. It unites chambers, companies, their associations and associations, supports the development of market structures, represents the interests of their members.

In 1921 the Soviet Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded. The aim was to promote domestic and foreign trade. In 1972 there was a reorganization. After that she was responsible for handling the foreign trade of large Soviet companies. As part of the perestroika policy, the Chamber was decentralized in 1991 and largely insignificant. With the collapse of the Soviet Union in October 1991, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation was established as the umbrella organization of the regional chambers. In 1993, the role of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry was enshrined in law with the Law on Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
