The reference book for Protestant theologians, a reference book for the entire field of scientific and practical theology, was a three-volume lexicon that was published by FA Perthes , Gotha, between 1890 and 1891.

The work was based on the assumption that the "entire field of Protestant theology (...) in this manual dictionary for the first time has a lexical representation".
