Hemp fair

A hemp fair or cannabis fair is a fair at which products from the cannabis or hemp industry are exhibited.

These are products related to cannabis and its (industrial) uses such as cosmetics, medicine, shoes, textiles, building materials, food, crops, cultivation, seeds , agricultural systems, etc., recreational consumption and phytotherapy . In addition, lectures are often held at associated conferences to discuss topics such as use in medicine, legalization for recreational use, research into active ingredients, cultivation and consumption, and risk reduction.

Examples

The largest hemp fair in Europe is the Spannabis, which was held for the first time in 2002 and attracted 35,000 visitors in 2014. The largest and, since 2001, first hemp fair in Germany is Mary Jane Berlin.

The oldest hemp fair in German-speaking countries is the Cannatrade in Zurich, which has been taking place since 2001 and will take place in Bern in 2020. The CNBS hemp fair with conference took place in Dortmund in May 2019 and the Cultiva and the hemp expo take place in Vienna and the surrounding area. In 2015 there was also a small hemp fair in Munich, which has not been repeated since then. From 23 to 25 August 2019, the very large-scale Cannafair will take place for the first time in the Mitsubishi Electric Hall in Düsseldorf.

In the meantime, almost every European country has at least one cannabis fair of its own, and countries like Italy have several spread over the year. In the USA and Canada, too, there are well over a dozen cannabis fairs, some of which even specialize in individual subsegments, for example Glass Vegas, which is only dedicated to smoking aids made of glass.
