Hans-Heinrich von Fersen

Hans-Heinrich von Fersen (* 1909 in Reval ; † September 11, 1996 in Barsinghausen ) was a German journalist and non-fiction author on automobile history.

Life

Hans-Heinrich von Fersen grew up in the Baltic States and studied at the Latvian Polytechnic in Riga . Until 1939 he worked in a paper and pulp mill. After his release from captivity, von Fersen lived in Darmstadt from 1951, where he initially worked in the photo industry and then held a managerial position at the Hessian electricity company. In the following years he created extensive documentation about cars and motorcycles. He was probably the first author in the German-speaking area to publish detailed automobile brand and technology typologies.
