Hans-Peter Müller (archaeologist)

Hans-Peter Müller (* 1956 in Kolba ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Hans-Peter Müller studied classical archeology and art history at the University of Jena between 1975 and 1980 . He then moved to the Department of Classical Archeology at the University of Leipzig as a research assistant . There he received his doctorate in December 1984 with a thesis on the subject of the social position of the Greek visual artist in the 4th century BC In 1989, Müller was doing additional studies at the State University of Saint Petersburg . Since 1993 he has been a research assistant with curator function at the Institute for Classical Archeology and Museum of Antiquities at the University of Leipzig. There he is entrusted with the development and utilization of the cast collection as well as the creation of a catalog of the Etruscan antiquities. He also organized and supervised several special exhibitions. Müller is particularly concerned with etrusology and the history and reception of archeology.
