Overview of the buildings

The Hans Spalinger Waldorf School Roșia was founded in 1998 as a literacy project for Roma children in the village of Roșia in Romania to find solutions to the everyday and school problems and emergencies of a large population group.

history

The name "Hans Spalinger" goes back to Mr. Hans Spalinger, who did a lot for the Waldorf movement in Romania.

As early as 2000, the Hans Spalinger Waldorf School project was granted the status of a state Waldorf school by the Sibiu School Inspectorate. The "Waldorf Association Sibiu and Roșia" took over the internal development, while until two years ago the "Association Vasile Voiculescu" took care of the structural development. In 2004 the Waldorf School was expanded to include a vocational branch with the agricultural profile, which was completed with a state diploma. In 2009 all vocational schools in Romania were abolished, so that the association now has to fight to get an adequate training approved by the ministry. A kindergarten group has also been available since September 2010.

The Hans-Spalinger-Waldorf School is characterized above all by the extracurricular and additional activities. A Europe-wide exchange is also promoted through social internships and art projects. Here are some examples of extracurricular activities and projects:

  • Parents are invited to lectures, seminars, artistic work and cultural trips
  • Social internships for Waldorf classes from abroad
  • Social internships for European pupils and students as a career orientation or free social year
  • Art project with the Alanus University
