Harald Genzmer Interpretation Competition

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Harald Genzmer Interpretation Competition has been carried out by the Harald Genzmer Foundation in conjunction with the Munich University of Music and Theater since 2016 . The competition is advertised every two years - together with the Harald Genzmer composition competition - for changing line-ups and is aimed at students or young students of any nationality between the ages of 12 and 28.

The composer Harald Genzmer (1909–2007) was a member of the Munich University of Music from 1957 to 1974. The foundation he established is heir to his artistic legacy. The foundation ensures that Harald Genzmer's work is preoccupied with and confronted with and promotes new music as well as composers, performers and musicologists. The Harald Genzmer Interpretation Competition, which was held for the first time in 2016, aims to examine the musical work of Harald Genzmer and to promote young musicians. The 2020 competition is for violin and piano (duo evaluation).
