construction

Haripur Barabari is a multi-story, three-part building. The room and style arrangement implies historical craftsmanship, architecture and structural perfection. This palace boundary covers nearly 5 acres of highlands with 60 chambers including a theater, warehouse, cow stables, kitchen, casino, playground, pagoda , temple, small pond, etc. Six staircases are located on six sides of the palace for the first floor and two staircases for the second floor. Six bedrooms on the northwest, four on the east and four on the west of the pond. There is a large brick wharf to the west of the palace, which ends at the river, and both sides are decorated with pagodas of Krishna Prasad Roy Choudhury to the north and Gouri Prasad Roy to the south. People in this area used the river route for communication and comfortable travel and most likely the quay was used as the main gate for the same purpose.

The Haripur landowners were influential landowners who succeeded the Tripura state. The residents of Sunamganj, Chhatak, Dowarabazar and Ajmiriganj paid taxes to the landowners. They had good relations with the landowners of Guniauk, another village in Nasirnagar Upazila. After the division in 1947, the landlords left the palace and went to Calcutta .
