Harken, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of sailing accessories headquartered in Pewaukee , Wisconsin, USA.

The company was founded in 1967 by the brothers Peter and Olaf Harken, originally under the name Vanguard v. a. Sailboats built (e.g. Vanguard Finns from 1975 ). The production and sale of fittings and boat accessories was largely separate from this, which was certainly beneficial to business relationships with competing boat builders.

1986 Vanguard Sailboats was spun off and Harken concentrated on its current business field, the production of accessories for sailing, such as curry clips , winches , blocks and travelers . Today Harken produces in the USA and Italy ( Limido Comasco , Como).
