Harunaga Isaacson

Harunaga Isaacson (* 1965 ) is a Japanese Indologist .

Life

He obtained his MA from the University of Groningen in 1990 and his PhD from the University of Leiden in 1995 . Since April 2006 he has been Professor of Classical Indology at the Asia-Africa Institute .

His focus is on tantric traditions in South Asia before the 13th century, in particular Vajrayāna Buddhism, classical Sanskrit poetry, classical Indian philosophy, Purāṇic literature and manuscript studies.
