Hataz from Axum
Hataz (also known as Iathlia) was a Christian king of the Aksumite Empire in Africa who ruled at the end of the sixth century and who is known only from his coins so far. These usually show him on the front in the front view and on the lapel a cross. The legends are King Hataz and Mercy for the People , mostly in Old Ethiopian .
