Haufer Park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Haufer Park in Gevelsberg , formerly Haufer Bahnhof, is a small park that was created as part of the renovation work on Hagener Straße. The park is located at Hagener Straße 79 and is connected to a hiking and cycling path along the old railway line.

Before the start of the municipal funding program Nirgena / Haufe in 1997, the district was polluted by brownfield sites, garbage dumps and chemicals. The redevelopment, which was supported as a municipal framework plan with state funds from 2001 , consisted of a redesign of the Ennepe bend with a park, a narrowing of Hagener Straße (B7), crossing aids and other measures. A row of houses was also built. The redesign was part of an intermunicipal renovation project.
