Headquarters for missiles and artillery

The Defense Ministry's Missile and Artillery Headquarters ( GRAU ; Russian Главное ракетно-артиллерийское управление МО , ГРАУ ) is a main department of the Soviet and now Russian Defense Ministry .

The GRAU reports to the Chief of Armaments and Ammunition of the Russian Armed Forces , the Deputy Minister of Defense. She is especially responsible for the allocation of the so-called " GRAU indices ", which carry all weapons, missiles and equipment, including the space program, which are used in the Soviet Army and today's Russian Army .
