Haus & Grund Germany - Central Association of German House, Apartment and Land Owners e. V. is the largest German community of interests of private house, apartment and property owners in the legal form of a registered association .

22 regional associations and around 900 local associations are currently affiliated to the Central Association of Haus & Grund Germany . The association is based in Berlin . The association represents around 900,000 members of around 15 million private owners across Germany (as of October 2016). As a member of the Union Internationale de la Propriété Immobilière (UIPI), Haus & Grund Germany is also active internationally as a lobby group within the European Union. Acting president is Kai H. Warnecke, who was previously the general manager of the association. Warnecke was elected at the general meeting on June 2, 2016.

history

Efforts have been made since the 1870s to organize the local house and landowner associations across Germany in a uniform manner. Thanks to the initiative of the chairman of the General House Owners Association in Dresden, Master Builder Hartwig, representatives of the House and Landowners Association met on September 15, 1879 at a first congress in Dresden. The proposal to found a Reich Association met with broad approval. In 1911 the association was entered in the register of associations and in 1919 it was named Zentralverband Deutscher Haus- und Grundbesitzervereine e. V. The association was re-established in 1946 after the coordination during the Third Reich. Today the name is Central Association of German House, Apartment and Land Owners e. V. - Haus & Grund Germany - . In 1991 the five newly founded regional associations from the new federal states were incorporated.
