The Dahl house is a former aristocratic residence in the Dahl district of Hagen . It is located in the immediate vicinity of the local church.

House Dahl in its present form and design was built between 1820 and 1823 by the Hagen District Administrator Friedrich Gerstein . He had acquired the old manor including all lands in 1820 from his uncle Dietrich Friedrich Adolf von Gerstein (1745-1829) by purchase.

A generation later, by the hand of Friedrich Gerstein's son, William, was in Volmetal conducted a systematic replanting of forests which the shape and form of Volmetales characterizes today. During this time and on his initiative, the road from Rummenohl to Hagen and the Volmetalbahn were built (1871–1875).

After 1902 the estate was continued in the form of a GmbH, and the forest areas were gradually sold.

Haus Dahl was acquired by the savings and loan fund in 1952 and has served as a bank and residential building as well as a post office since that time.

The Dahl house has been a listed building since 1950 . Today there are four apartments in Haus Dahl. Haus Dahl and the post office built in 1989 were transferred to the "Freundeskreis Haus Dahl" in 2006 and incorporated into a foundation in 2007. Since then, the foundation has owned both properties.
