Hawaii State Route 440

The Hawaii State Route 440 is the only state route on the island of Lānaʻi in the US state of Hawaii .

It has only regional significance and connects the tourist area on the south coast with the only town on the island and Lānaʻi airport .

The road begins at Mānele Harbor and climbs steeply in a northerly direction to Lānaʻi City , where it continues in a westerly direction shortly after the entrance to the town, ending at Kaumalapau Harbor . The total length is about 13.5 miles (22 kilometers). The southern section is also known as Mānele Road , the western section as the Kaumalapau Highway .
