Heinrich had been Count von Werl since around 1017 .

Life

He was a son of Hermann II von Werl . As early as 1018 he independently led a feud against Archbishop Heribert of Cologne . The reason was that the archbishop had the count's mother imprisoned for reasons not known in detail. From 1017 he was Count von Werl. Like Hermann II. Vogt, he was the Imperial Abbey in Werden . Heinrich acquired the bailiwick over the diocese of Paderborn during the time of office of Rotho , who presumably came from the Werler count's house . As a result of the donations by Heinrich II. And Conrad II., Almost all of the count's rights in this area were associated with this. His brother Bernhard had been the actual ruler in the county of Werl since around 1024.

The day of his death has been passed down to the necrologists of the Neuenheerse Abbey , the Überwasser Abbey , the Osnabrück Cathedral and the Borghorst Abbey . It could have been August 18th or 20th.
