Heinrich Haan

Heinrich Haan , (born May 10, 1844 in Cologne , † April 2, 1909 in Luxembourg ), was a German theologian , philosopher and head of the German religious province of the Jesuits .

Haan attended the Stella Matutina grammar school in Feldkirch from 1856 to 62 . Then he went through the novitiate with the Jesuits . After studying philosophy in Maria Laach he taught in Feldkirch humanities and lectured on theological study natural philosophy in Bleijenbeek Castle where the study house of the province after the Jesuit law was transferred from the 1872nd In 1894 he published the text book "Philosophia naturalis", which had previously been copied as a manuscript.

In the period from 1894 to 1900, Haan was the Provincial Head of the Teutonic Order Province, which at that time consisted of branches in Austria (Vorarlberg), Switzerland, the Netherlands and Luxembourg . He then became rector of the Stella Matutina grammar school and college in Feldkirch. He held this office until 1904. Haan spent the last years of his life in the Luxembourg branch, from where he wrote reviews and articles for the magazine “ Voices from Maria Laach ”.
