Heinrich Meltinger

Heinrich Meltinger (* before 1471 in Basel , † 1531 in Colmar ) was a Swiss politician.

Heinrich Meltinger was bailiff of Waldenburg from 1509–1512, then councilor of the Hohen Stube in Basel until 1515. 1516–1521 he held the office of chief guild master. In 1522 he was elected mayor of Basel. After the Reformation was implemented in February 1529, as the leader of the Old Believers, he had to resign from all offices in Basel.
