Heinz A. Behrens

Heinz Albert Behrens (* 1950 ) is a German local politician and homeland researcher.

Behrens was mayor of the city of Blankenburg (Harz) from 1994–2001 , and in 1999 he was unselected.

He works as a local researcher and publishes mainly on the County of Regenstein , its ruling family and the monasteries that were once located there. In February 2007, the Nordharzer Altertumsgesellschaft eV, of which he is the 1st chairman, took over the Wendhusen monastery complex from the city of Thale . The company operates a monastery museum on the special topic of "Canonical pens" and a center for living history.
