Hellisey is one of the Westman Islands south of Iceland .
This uninhabited island is 6 km southwest of Heimaey and 13 km northeast of Surtsey . It only has an area of 0.1 km² and extends to over 100 m above sea level.
Hellisey was also the name of a fishing boat. It sank on March 12, 1984. Guðlaugur Friðþórsson was the only survivor of the crew. He swam 5 km to Heimaey.
