Hellux is one of the oldest German manufacturers of lights .

history

The traditional company was founded in the course of electrification in 1891. The expansion of the power supply and the commercial production of carbon filament lamps in 1883 paved the way for the production of "electrotechnical supplies". In the first few years the company specialized in the production of so-called banker and desk lamps. The first trademark registration of the Lichttechnische Spezialfabrik is dated November 13, 1919 and describes the production portfolio with "electric bulbs, lamps, switches, sockets, switch rosettes, lamp sockets, lamp lift and suspension devices, arc lamp couplings, wall arms, lamp fittings and ceiling lights". Hellux was one of the suppliers of exhibits for the exhibition "Berlin in the Light" in the Märkisches Museum , in which the last century of street lighting in Berlin was presented.

Current

Today the Hellux Group implements solutions for outdoor and street lighting . With the Berliner Lichtmanufaktur and the factory in Hanover / Laatzen, which specializes in industrial series production, and the Hellux Elektra factory in Budweis (Czech Republic), Hellux offers technical, decorative and historical lights as well as pillar, bollard, ceiling and wall lights. Hellux employs around 120 people.

In March 2012, the well-known lighting manufacturer ZETT OPTICS GmbH from Braunschweig acquired all the shares in the Hellux group of companies from the owners to add its product portfolio to the field of outdoor lighting.
