Lost Cause Motors

Lost Cause Motors was an American automobile manufacturer based in Louisville, Kentucky from 1963 and 1964 . Its founder Charles P. Farmsley was previously Mayor of Louisville. He owned the Derham Body Company in Rosemont, Pennsylvania .

The Lost Cause (dt .: Lost process) was a Chevrolet Corvair in sedan version , which was equipped with all conceivable luxury facilities. The seats and roof were upholstered in black leather, and the dashboard was made of Kentucky walnut. The instruments in the dashboard were supplemented by an altimeter, a compass, a clock and various fittings for use in rallying. There was picnic equipment and a luggage set from the factory.

The standard six - cylinder boxer engine with 2376 cm³ displacement and 80 bhp (59 kW) output at 4400 min −1 could be tuned by John Fitch & Co. so that it delivered 120 bhp (88 kW) and the car reached 185 km / h .
