Panda (US car brand)

Panda was an American automobile brand built by Small Cars, Inc. in Kansas City, Missouri , in 1955 and 1956 .

The Panda was a small two-seater convertible with a GRP body. Its removable hardtop was divided into two parts to stow in the trunk. The wheelbase of the car was 1778 mm.

In two years of production of the Panda standard was from a side-valve two-cylinder piston engine of Kohler , which had a capacity of 1100 cc and 26 hp (19 kW) at 3600 min -1 made. 1955 was alternatively a four-cylinder in-line engine with an overhead camshaft of Crosley with 721 cc capacity and a power of 26.5 bhp (19.5 kW) at 5400 min -1 . This option was no longer available the following year. A side-controlled Aerojet engine with a displacement of 721 cm³ was also available, which delivered 15 bhp (11 kW). The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual three-speed gearbox.
