Antique & Classic was an American car brand.

Brand history

The brand name was introduced for automobiles and kit cars in 1970 or 1972 . The car shop Idelberger GmbH & Co. KG offered the vehicles in Germany. In 1990 production and marketing ended.

Several sources name Antique & Classic Cars Inc. from Buffalo , New York State, as the manufacturer.

Similarly, British Motor Cars Ltd. called from Cheektowaga . This company was founded on December 13, 1983 and dissolved on July 24, 1987.

Another source names Antique & Classic Automotive Inc. from Buffalo. This company was founded on May 9, 1977 in Cheektowaga. On May 12, 1977 the company name changed to NPSS Vehicles Inc. and back on July 26, 1977. On September 29, 1993 the company was dissolved.

Antique & Collectible Autos from the same city continued production under its own brand name from 1990.

The offer included models that looked similar to historical vehicles. One source states that the deviations from the original were too great to speak of replicas . Models were Alfa Romeo Monza , a supercharged Bentley model , a Bugatti Type 35 , a Frazer Nash model and the Jaguar SS100 . A chassis from the VW Beetle formed the basis.

The range was later limited to the SS 100. A tubular frame was then available for him that could accommodate engines from the Ford Pinto or Ford Mustang II .

Then the replica of a Jaguar XK 120 followed .
