Amante was a US car brand.

Brand history

Hebina Plastics from Santa Clara , California manufactured automobiles and kit cars from 1969 . The brand name was Amante , possibly with the addition GT . In 1970 the company name changed to Voegele Industries . The date of foundation of this company is May 21, 1969 and the place Campbell has been handed down.

Performance Designers from Daytona Beach , Florida took over the project in 1971. This company was founded on July 14, 1970 in Holly Hill .

The last manufacturer from 1973 was Amante Cars from Chamblee in Georgia . Production ended in 1975.

Nirico from Brazil was a licensee .

vehicles

Only one model was on offer. The base formed a chassis from the Volkswagen Type 3 and not as usual from the VW Beetle , for disc brakes and the engine with intake manifold injection were useful details. The body of the coupe was made of fiberglass .

A tubular frame was also available from 1970. It was designed to accommodate the six - cylinder boxer engine from the Chevrolet Corvair and V8 engines that were mounted in the center of the vehicle behind the seats.
