Centaur Motor Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
The company was founded on April 11, 1983 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . It manufactured automobiles with the brand name Centaur . In contradiction to the founding date 1980, some sources indicate the start of production. Deviating from this, one source mentions American Classic Automobiles Corp. from the same place as the manufacturer. Production ended in 1985.
There was no connection with the Centaur Car Company , founded in 1984 , which used the same brand name between 1985 and 1986.
vehicles
The only model was a replica of a Mercedes-Benz 500 K from the 1930s. The chassis , engine and suspension were from General Motors . The V6 engine had a displacement of 3800 cc . An automatic transmission was standard.
