Phillips Motor Car Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded on July 2, 1979 in Margate , Florida . Another source names Pompano Beach , an adjacent municipality. Automobile production began around 1979 and ran until 1985. The brand name was Phillips .

The Berlina Motor Car Sales of Knoxville in Tennessee , led by a Mr. Cooper drove many of these vehicles. Some sources therefore erroneously give the brand name as Berlina .

vehicles

The only Berlina model was a 1930s-style vehicle with a resemblance to Mercedes-Benz models . A chassis from the Corvette , which was extended by 56 cm, formed the basis. Parts of the interior, the dashboard and the T-top roof also came from the Corvette. The standard version had two spare wheels , which were arranged upright on both sides of the bonnet . The luxury version SE had exhaust pipes at the point that led from the engine compartment to the outside.
