Panther automobiles

The Panther Automobile Company was an American automobile manufacturer based in Bedford Hills in 1962 and 1963 .

The only model was a two-door roadster with a GRP body, the shape of which was very reminiscent of the British Daimler SP250 . He also got the engine from this car, an overhead V8 with 2547 cm³ displacement. In this Panther engine delivered 145 bhp (107 kW) at 5000 min -1 . Alternatively, there was an M model with a more powerful engine. It developed 190 bhp (140 kW) at 6500 min −1 . The engine power was passed on to the rear wheels via a manual four-speed gearbox.

Both cars weighed 545 kg, had a wheelbase of 2388 mm and were 4013 mm long. The standard model cost US $ 4250, the M model US $ 4995.
