Custom Design Associates was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1984 in Tacoma , Washington state. A source names San José in California as the second location . The production of automobiles and kit cars began. The brand name was Custom Design Associates . Production ended in 1990.

vehicles

One model was based on the Ford Pinto and was similar to the Ferrari 308 GTB. The body was made of fiberglass . The 286 GTF version had a V6 engine from Ford with a displacement of 2800 cm³ . The 508 GTF was powered by a Ford V8 engine.

A source also mentions the 1985 replica of a Lotus Seven with the engine from the Ford Pinto.

In addition, Pinto engines were assembled in Lotus Europe .
