Duesenberg Corporation was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in Gardena , California in 1970 . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Duesenberg , based on the pre-war brand Duesenberg . The director was EW Rose. In 1974 the company moved to Inglewood , also in California. Production ended in 1979. According to one source, a total of around 25 vehicles were built. Another source names 25 vehicles for 1976 and 15 for 1977.

The only model was a high quality replica of the Duesenberg SSJ Speedster of the 1930s as a roadster . The dimensions are taken from an original vehicle that once belonged to Gary Cooper . A commercial vehicle - chassis of Dodge with 3249 mm wheelbase formed the basis. An open body made of aluminum and steel was mounted on it. A V8 engine from Chrysler drove the vehicles. There was a choice of versions with a carburetor and a supercharger. The engine output was given as 500 hp , with one source saying that it was actually around 300 hp.
