Southeastern Replicars Inc. was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
David Samuels founded the company on November 8, 1978 in Clearwater , Florida . Other sources give the city of Largo . In addition to the restoration of classic vehicles, the production of automobiles and kit cars began . The brand name was Southeastern , possibly with the addition of Replicars . As of August 25, 1980 there was a branch in California . Production ended in 1980, 1981 or 1984 at the earliest, depending on the source. Two Internet sites state that the last recorded story was on December 14, 1982.
vehicles
Three models were replicas of vehicles made by the Auburn Automobile Company in the 1930s. The Speedster was a two-seater roadster . The touring car Phaeton was available with 2 + 2 seats as well as a full four-seater. The wheelbase was 323 cm or 348 cm for the four-seater. Chassis and engine came either from Ford or General Motors . Around 300 vehicles of this series were built by 1982.
Another source names other replicas. A model was the 1928 Stutz Black Hawk Speedster from Stutz . The model had a six-cylinder engine from Ford with 4900 cc displacement .
The replica of the Cord 812 of Cord had V8 engines from Chevrolet and Oldsmobile .
