Global Electric Motorcars
Global Electric Motorcars (GEM) is a manufacturer of automobiles with electric drive in the United States . The company, founded in 1992, was a subsidiary of the Chrysler Group from 2000 to 2011 . GEM has been a subsidiary of Polaris Industries since 2011 . GEM is based in Fargo , North Dakota .
The GEM electric cars meet the strict Californian emissions standards and are used, for example, in holiday resorts, parks, industrial plants, military bases and in city traffic.
technology
The vehicles, which are operated with a 72 volt accumulator , reach a speed of 25 mph (approx. 40 km / h). The range of a single charge is 30 miles (approx. 48 km). The accumulators (six lead-acid or lead-gel accumulators of 12 V each) can be charged at a USA-standard 110 V mains socket.
