List of electric utility vehicles and electric utility vehicle prototypes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following list of electric utility vehicles and electric utility vehicle prototypes includes battery-electric trucks, buses, vans, pick-up trucks and passenger hand trucks that are or have been in production and have already been introduced in some markets around the world.

Test vehicles, prototypes, demonstration vehicles, record vehicles and development projects, insofar as they relate to commercial vehicles, can also be found here in this list. Commercial vehicles that are under development or whose series production is about to start are shown in a table in a separate subsection.

On the other hand, electric cars that have already been produced in the final series and that are either sold by the manufacturer or by regular retailers are compiled in the list of electric cars in series production . Test vehicles, prototypes, demonstration vehicles, record vehicles and development projects for cars can be found in the list of electric car prototypes . This also includes pre-production cars. Electric racing cars are included in a separate section on this list. Electric commercial vehicle prototypes are not listed under the electric car prototypes.

Fuel cell vehicle models and hybrid vehicle models are not included in the tables below. For hybrid vehicle models, reference should be made to the list of hybrid automobiles in series production . For fuel cell vehicle models that have already been built as prototypes or concept vehicles, reference is made to Fuel Cell Vehicle # Available Fuel Cell Vehicles and Concept Vehicles as a reference point for a list. Solar vehicles , including solar cars, which are intended for road traffic, form a special category; they are not listed here, but in the list of solar vehicles . Battery electric cars suitable for road use, with photovoltaic systems attached to their outer surfaces, are counted as solar cars. Electric tricycles , provided they are driven like cars , not like motorcycles , are exceptionally included in this list, although by definition they are not “cars”.

Avevai Iona Truck BEV Avevai The startup Avevai from Singapore presented a new e-transporter and a small e-truck at the Guangzhou Auto Show in autumn 2018. The chassis of both vehicles was developed together with Daimler and the Chinese manufacturer Foton in Stuttgart.
Both Stromers belong to Avevai's Iona series and are driven by an electric motor with 100 kW and 360 Nm attached to the rear axle. The maximum speed is limited to 100 km / h. For the first time, the duo uses a so-called supercapacitor-battery synthesis circuit, a combination of a lithium-manganese battery with 80 kWh capacity and graphene-based supercapacitors (GEMS). This was developed by the Singaporean company E-Synergy.
Thanks to the technology, the e-transporter should have a range of 330 km (NEDC) and the e-lightweight truck 300 km. It is also said that the traction battery has a longer service life than usual, as the acceleration and recuperation energy is taken from fast-reacting intermediate storage.
The Iona model family is produced by Beiqi Foton in China; the models will be launched on the Chinese market in February 2019, and on the European and American markets in May 2019.

Bollinger B1 (off-roader box van) Bollinger Motors At the beginning of August 2017, the startup company Bollinger Motors presented a new battery-electric SUV at a private media event of the Classic Car Club of Manhattan. In the first two and a half weeks after the presentation, over 6,000 interested people registered. The number of pre-reservations that have now become possible is over 19,000 (as of the end of August 2018). According to plans, the model should go into main series production at the end of 2019, with the first deliveries in 2020. Prototype tests have been taking place for some time. Whether it can stick to the schedule remains to be seen: the startup is faced with the task of getting the financing for production. After all, the manufacturer was able to show prototypes of the Bollinger B1 and B2 models ready for series production in September 2019.
The exterior comes in the style of a Land Rover Defender. The battery-electric all-wheel drive of the B1 model has a maximum engine output of 614 hp with a peak torque of 905.7 Newton meters. The electrical energy required for driving and towing trailers is obtained from a traction battery with a charging capacity of 120 kilowatt hours for a range of 200 miles / 322 kilometers (presumably according to the American EPA driving cycle).
2019-10
Bollinger B2 (off-roader pickup) Bollinger Motors While the Bollinger B1 is designed as an off-roader box van in the Land Rover Defender style, the Bollinger B2 comes as an off-roader pickup with or without a flatbed. The entire front end looks exactly the same as the B1. The engine should also be the same as in the B1. An extension of the cabin to a four-door cabin structure is basically possible. The construction of the B2 can largely be adapted to customer needs. In view of the corona pandemic, the Bollinger engineering team is currently (beginning of August 2020) banned from teleworking in the quarantine. The boss Robert Bollinger estimates that a larger amount of practical prototype development work will only be able to be tackled in autumn 2020. 2020-08
Bollinger Deliver-E (Transporter) Bollinger Motors According to plans, those responsible at the manufacturer "Bollinger Motors" intend to introduce a battery-powered delivery vehicle into series production in 2022. There are already initial concept ideas for this delivery van. The traction battery for the delivery van model “Deliver-E” should be scalable according to the ideas of the makers; Different traction battery sizes are to be made available to customers in certain grades. 2020-08

This has now been confirmed: the European market launch of the model is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Five selected combinations of four lengths and three heights together form the five sizes of the model that can be selected. The electric drive machine has a maximum output of 90 kW, i.e. 122.4 PS. The maximum speed is 110 km / h and 90 km / h for the 4-ton variant. While the two lengths L1 and L2 get a battery with a capacity of 37 kWh, there will be lengths L3 and L4 with a 70 kWh battery. If the traction battery is empty, it can be charged using an AC charging facility within five hours (in the case of the 37 kWh variant) or seven hours (in the case of the 70 kWh variant). Alternatively, the traction battery can also be charged with direct current (CCS-DC). In this case, the two traction battery variants need one hour (in the case of the 37 kWh variant) or two hours (in the case of the 70 kWh variant) to be recharged to 80 percent of the maximum charge level at a charging station with 50 kW charging power. The purely electrically powered version of the Boxer offers the same payload as the combustion engine with up to 1,890 kg - the maximum payload applies when the chassis is completely empty. Scania Citywide LF BEV Volkswagen This model was presented to the public at the Busworld trade fair in Kortrijk / Belgium in autumn 2017. According to plans, this model, a battery-powered, low-floor local bus, will be launched on the market before 2020. The model was presented again at Busworld in Brussels / Belgium in autumn 2019, in part in a further developed form. Equipped with an oil-cooled 300 kW (407.9 PS) electric drive, which is fed with electrical energy from eight traction battery sets, four of them on the roof and four in the rear, this should enable real ranges between 80 and 150 kilometers . This may not seem like much at first, but there is an option for the bus model with a pantograph that can be used to charge the traction battery system with a 300 kW DC electric charge. For example, at the end of a public transport bus route, the pantographs could be extended and the batteries charged quickly while the driver takes a short break. With such an operating concept, a short range of the batteries would in practice not be an obstacle to local public transport. The departure times at the bus stops must then be adapted to such an operating concept. The number of buses that must be used on a bus route depends on the frequency with which the stops are to be approached, taking into account the mean value of the driving speed, the stopping times, the battery charging time / bus driver break, the distance-to-go time buffer and the length of the route. 2019-11
Tesla Cybertruck (Pickup) Tesla On November 21, 2019, Tesla boss Elon Musk presented the new Tesla pickup at an evening gala on an area near the branch of his space company SpaceX in Los Angeles: the new model will probably be called "Cybertruck". The body of the 5.86 meter long, battery-powered pickup is said to be made of a cold-rolled stainless steel alloy, the windows of bulletproof glass. In the side profile, the silhouette of the model corresponds to a heptagonal polygon into which the wheels are then set. Such a design was probably not expected by anyone. Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen hit the door with a large hammer and it showed no signs of damage. Then he threw a steel ball once, then again against the window front, which showed cracks, but remained together as a structure, not bursting into individual pieces.
The rear consists of a covered platform, the roof cover can be moved back and forth. Nothing on the bed can be folded down on the sides; however, the rear edge of the platform can be folded down. The massive rear flap contains an extendable and retractable ramp, probably made of hardened steel. At the end of the demonstration, it was used to drive an electric quad onto the bed. There is a charging socket in the side wall of the platform on the right back inside to supply the electric quad parked on the platform with electrical charge from the traction battery of the Cybertruck, i.e. to be able to charge it.
According to plans, the entry-level variant and the medium-sized variant should go into main series production at the end of 2021. The top variant is to follow in 2022. A pre-reservation of the Cybertruck is possible against a deposit of 100 US- $. The final configuration by the customer as well as the conclusion of a sales contract will probably be possible in 2021.
The payload should be around 1590 kilograms. An adjustable air suspension, which can be raised or lowered 10 centimeters at a time, ensures flexibility. The ground clearance is given as around 40 centimeters. The interior has space for six people and additional storage space. A 17-inch display is available to the driver and front passenger. A round speedometer as well as a flashing indicator for turning left or right behind the steering wheel would be an asset in terms of road safety, especially when overtaking on motorways and country roads, but unfortunately you will look for it in vain.
With the entry-level version, the buyer has a range of over 400 kilometers, a trailer load of over 3400 kilograms and an acceleration of 0–60 mph (0–97 km / h) in under 6.5 seconds. With the middle variant there is all-wheel drive with two electric motors, a range of over 480 kilometers, a trailer load of over 4500 kilograms and an acceleration of 0–60 mph in under 4.5 seconds. The top version has three engines, manages more than 800 e-kilometers in one go, offers a towing capacity of over 6350 kilograms and sprints up to 60 mph in under 2.9 seconds.
The Cybertruck should be able to be charged on V3 superchargers in order to make progress reasonably quickly even on longer distances with a trailer.
However, the number of advance reservations for the model, some of which were initially in the room, could not be confirmed. Due to a large number of cancellations, the real number is said to be just over 200,000. For Europe, the construction of a smaller version of the Cybertruck by Tesla boss Musk is considered "quite likely" in the long term.
According to plans, the model will go into series production in Austin, Texas. 2020-08
Tesla ?? (What is meant here is a still nameless model that is circulating under the trivial name "Semi".) (Truck semitrailer) Tesla On November 16, 2017, a battery-electric truck semitrailer was presented to the public by Tesla boss Elon Musk near Los Angeles in an evening gala. Musk said the truck can run around 20% cheaper (in terms of running costs) than a comparable diesel truck, and with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in about 5 seconds, it is faster than many sports cars. On-board computer-controlled truck convoy journeys and lane-keeping technology will also be feasible with the new semitrailer, according to the video presentation brought by Musk. It is a 40-ton truck. Series production of the model could be expected to start around 2019, according to the original plans of Tesla boss Elon Musk. With the announcement of the quarterly figures for the first quarter of 2019 for Tesla, in which declining sales figures for some models were reported by Tesla boss Musk, the series production ramp-up for the Tesla Semi has been postponed from 2019 to 2020 in view of existing problems in other areas of the company. The main series production is to start in March 2020; The first deliveries of vehicles are scheduled for spring 2020. 2019-11
VW e-Delivery Volkswagen The Volkswagen subsidiary Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus from Brazil plans to build light trucks from 2020, including those with battery-electric drives. The e-Delivery model comes with a peak engine output of 260 kW and a maximum torque of 2150 Newton meters. The model is intended for use in emerging markets. 2018-10
VW ID Buzz Cargo Volkswagen The VW ID Buzz Cargo is a battery-electric powered transporter whose design is based on the iconic appearance of the VW T1, but whose shape has been transferred into today's design language by VW designer Klaus Bischoff. At the same time, the model is a twin to the minibus "VW ID Buzz", with both models expected to be on the market around 2021/2022. The 5.04 meter long transporter with a wheelbase of 3.30 meters should be good for WLTP ranges between 330 and 500 kilometers. This is far more than what other transporters, which are designed for regional distribution traffic, usually have to offer. The secret of this lies in the MEB chassis, which was specially developed by Volkswagen for electric vehicle construction and which is specially tailored to the requirements of electric drives. Traction batteries with charging capacities between 48 and 111 kilowatt hours are to be accommodated in the chassis. In many cases, this is more than what most traditional converted combustion engine chassis can hold in terms of battery charge capacity. A quick charge function is also provided. This means that this transporter can also be used comparatively well on longer journeys. You can choose from the same engine power that is to be used in the "VW ID Buzz": a single-engine electric drive with 150 kW / 204 hp or a two-engine electric all-wheel drive with 275 kW / 374 hp engine power. Perhaps other engine outputs are also offered. The maximum vehicle payload is 800 kilograms. A head-up display, autonomous driving skills, a generous infotainment system and plenty of space round off the overall package. 2018-10
VW Abt e-Transporter BEV (Transporter) Volkswagen and Dept. In cooperation with the tuner Abt, based in Kempen in the Allgäu, those responsible for Volkswagen's commercial vehicle division intend to bring out a battery-electric version of the T6 model. According to plans, it should go on sale from autumn 2019. The electric drive should have a motor output of 82 kW / 111.5 PS and come with traction batteries in two different sizes: namely with a charging capacity of 38.8 kWh (= 37.3 kWh net plus 1.5 kWh emergency running reserve) and with 77, 6 kWh (= 74.6 kWh net plus 3.0 kWh emergency running reserve). With the larger of the two battery options, a WLTP range of approximately 355 kilometers is expected.
The MIB-3 infotainment system is available with two different screen sizes: 8 or 9.2 inches. It is equipped with the "App Connect" interface, with which smartphone apps such as Google Maps, the cell phone media library or streaming services such as Spotify can be shown on the central display without a cable connection. The system also integrates a voice assistant.
Electromechanical steering takes the place of hydraulic power steering from previous production: this means that numerous driver assistance systems can be implemented. A crosswind assistant is available as standard. Other assistance systems are optionally available: lane departure warning, parking assistant, trailer assistant, traffic sign recognition and parking assistant.
2019-10
VW Volksbus e-Flex Volkswagen At the Volkswagen subsidiary Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus from Brazil, the "Volksbus" - this is the name of a certain bus model from Volkswagen in South America - is also to be built with a battery-electric drive. For this purpose, a flexible chassis architecture called "e-Flex" is to become the basic component for the electrification of future distribution trucks and city buses from the "Volkswagen Truck & Bus" brands. Other manufacturers such as the American Volkswagen partner Navistar will also integrate this module into some of their models, according to the plans. There are already prototypes of the battery-powered Volksbus. As the competitor BYD already offers its battery-electric powered bus models on the South American market, the Volksbus e-Flex is expected to be launched there soon. 2018-10
Workhorse N-Gen-1000 BEV Workhorse On March 28, 2018, the model, a battery-electric powered delivery van, is said to have been presented to the public in the city hall of San Francisco. The model is all-wheel drive and has a range of 161 kilometers (100 miles) (presumably under the EPA test drive cycle ??). Series production of the model has now started (as of October 2018). The first deliveries are scheduled for 2019. 2018-11
XinLongma Keyton M70 EV (= XinLongma Qaiteng M70 EV) Fujian XinLongma Car Company The prototype ready for series production is already available and is currently being tested. At the end of November 2014 [obsolete] the model will be presented to the public at the "Guangzhou Auto Show". According to plans, the model is to be introduced into the Chinese market in the first months of 2015 [obsolete] . 2014-11
