Eurabus GmbH was founded in 2015 as a subsidiary of Euracom Group GmbH. However, the electric bus project was managed independently in the parent company as early as 2009. In 2012 the Eurabus 1.0 was manufactured and delivered to the roundabout company in Pinneberg . This made the Eurabus 1.0 the first modern, fully electric battery bus that was used by a transport company in Germany in daily regular service.

Based on the experience from the practical test at Kvip GmbH, the Eurabus 2.0 was used in 2014.

Eurabus GmbH is currently working on the successor bus (Eurabus 3.0). This battery bus should achieve a range of 650 kilometers (18-meter articulated bus) or 400 kilometers (12-meter bus).

In July 2017, Eurabus had already sold more than 1,000 fully electric battery buses worldwide, including in Germany and Switzerland . The main delivery areas are Central Asia ( Kazakhstan , Azerbaijan ), Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway) and Latin America .

Models

  • Eurabus 1.0 (since 2012): two-axle battery bus, length 11,480 mm, 242 kWh, lithium iron phosphate battery
  • Eurabus 2.0 (since 2013) battery bus, length 11,980 mm ( solobus ) or 17.990 mm ( articulated ) 512 kWh, lithium iron phosphate battery
  • Eurabus 3.0 (planned): length 12 m solo bus or 18 m articulated bus , up to 773 kWh

The electric buses are driven by a central motor or an electric drive integrated in the axle. Eurabus uses a lightweight construction concept that enables the payload of a comparable diesel bus despite the large battery.
