The Sileo S12 is a twelve-meter-long, purely electrically operated battery bus in a low-floor design from the German - Turkish bus manufacturer Sileo .

Technology and equipment

It is driven by an electric portal axle with two water-cooled asynchronous motors (120 kW each) from the supplier ZF Friedrichshafen ( ZF AVE 130 ). The front axle ( ZF RL 82 EC Rigid Portal ) and the steering system ( ZF 8098 Servocom ) also come from ZF .

The traction battery is housed in the roof structure of the vehicle , whereby a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 230 kWh is used as standard . According to the manufacturer, this enables a range of 230 to 300 km. The battery consists of 340 individual monitored and regulated cells (single cell loading, SCL). The bus can be charged with a charging capacity of 4 to 100 kW, depending on the connected load.

Depending on requirements, the bus can be delivered with two or three passenger double doors.

Locations

In the course of testing new vehicle concepts in local public transport, the vehicle was used on a test basis in 2015 by several transport companies, including in Bonn, Aachen, Hanover and Ludwigsburg.

Bask

Bonn

In July 2015, the first order for the delivery of six Sileo S12 buses was agreed with SWB Bus und Bahn . They are to be used from the beginning of 2016 as part of the ZeEUS (Zero Emission Urban Bus Systems) project funded by the European Union. At the end of January 2016, the first two buses were delivered, which were initially used for test drives (driver training). All six buses have been in service since the end of April. Due to defects, however, four of the buses were returned in the course of the course. There are now only two vehicles left in the inventory and liner service.
