history
Bucher Municipal is one of the five divisions of Bucher Industries AG in Niederweningen , Switzerland. Bucher Industries emerged from a forge that was operated in 1807 by Heinrich Bucher (-Weiss) (1784–1850) in Murzeln in Niederweningen, Switzerland. With the takeover of Rolba Kommunaltechnik in 1991, the foundation for the Bucher Municipal division was laid.
In 1994, the large sweeping vehicle business of Schörling GmbH in Hanover , founded in 1920, was taken over and Bucher-Guyer AG municipal vehicles was then founded in Niederweningen. Subsidiaries were later founded in South Korea in 2000 ( Bucher Schörling Korea Ltd ) and in 2004 in Latvia ( Bucher Schörling Baltic SIA ). The municipal area in Niederweningen was converted into Bucher Schörling AG in 2011 .
Since October 2014, Bucher Schörling, Giletta, Gmeiner, Assaloni.Com and MacDonald Johnston have combined their market presence under the Bucher Municipal brand.
In March 2016, the Danish-based manufacturer of sewer cleaning vehicles J. Hvidtved Larsen A / S was taken over.
On August 9, 2016, Bucher Industries announced that it had acquired the Australian market leader for trash compactors, PakMor, and that it wanted to place it in the Australian Bucher Municipal Organization. PakMor achieved sales of CHF 13 million in the 2015 financial year with 46 employees.

Bucher Municipal is headquartered in Niederweningen near Zurich in Switzerland. Production there will be shut down until 2017. The engineering, sales and customer service organizations of the Bucher and Johnston brands are not affected by the measures and will continue to operate as before. Subsidiaries for the Bucher sweeper sector are located in Hanover , Bochum , Ventspils (Latvia) and Seoul (South Korea). Johnston Sweepers Ltd is based in Dorking, Bristol and Leeds (UK) and Mooresville (USA). Beam special sweepers are manufactured in Them (Denmark). As a result of the reorganization of the Bucher and Johnston brands, production in Switzerland will be completely discontinued, production in Latvia will be expanded and production will be rebuilt in Hanover. All of the Bucher and Johnston brands of small sweepers are manufactured in Latvia. The containers for large sweepers of the two brands will roll off the production line in England. The final assembly for Johnston large sweepers remains in England, with the final assembly of the Bucher large sweepers being moved from Switzerland to Germany (Hanover). Thus, overall production should be more cost-effective. The locations for winter service equipment are in Wernberg-Köblitz (Germany) and in Revello and Gaggio Montano (Italy). Garbage trucks are produced in Melbourne (Australia). The sewer cleaning vehicles are manufactured in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, USA, Ireland, Russia, Great Britain, Australia and the Balkans.
