Mooresville is a town ( Town ) in Iredell County , North Carolina in the United States . The place on the northeast shore of Lake Norman is about 40 kilometers north of Charlotte .
history
In the middle of the 18th century, mostly British, Irish and German settled in Mooresville and began to plant cotton. In 1856 the place was opened up by the railway. On the initiative of the farmer John Franklin Moore, the small town that has since borne his name was established in 1873.
economy
In Mooresville there is the NASCAR Technical Institute, the Mooresville Dragway and several racing teams and workshops. The retailer Lowe's , which is one of the 100 largest companies in the USA , is also based here.
