The company Ebusco BV of Deurne is a Dutch supplier of electric buses . Ebusco produces low-floor buses in different versions.

history

Ebusco was founded in 2010 in Helmond by Peter Bijvelds. In autumn 2012, the company presented its first bus model, the Ebusco 1.0, at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover . In the same year Ebusco was the first European company to receive type approval for an electrically powered bus.

In 2017, an innovation partnership was concluded with the Stadtwerke München and the Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft .

In September 2018 the company moved to Deurne, where the company now has a more than 7000 m² production hall at its disposal.

Models

Ebusco 1.0

The Ebusco 1.0 was presented in 2012. The buses were used for test drives in various European cities.

Ebusco 2.0

The Ebusco 2.0 is a 12 m long bus in low-floor design . It was presented to the public for the first time at the 2014 IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover and has a battery with an energy content of 242 kWh. Buses of this type are used by Boreal Norge AS in Stavanger , among others .

Ebusco 2.1

Ebusco 2.1 of the Borkumer Kleinbahn

The Ebusco 2.1 is also a 12 m long bus. The Borkumer Kleinbahn vehicle was delivered in April 2017 and has a battery with an energy content of 311 kWh. The production of the bus was made by the Chinese company Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co. Ltd .

Ebusco 2.2

Ebusco 2.2 from Qbuzz

The Ebusco 2.2 has been available in three different versions since the second half of 2018: as a 12 m long LF variant (Low Floor) with three doors, as a 12 m long LE variant (Low Entry) with two doors and as an 18 m long articulated bus . The vehicles are manufactured in China by the Australian company Bus and Coach International (BCI) and can carry between ninety and one hundred and thirty people.

The city buses used in Munich are powered by an electric machine with an output of 124 kW. The bus is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery with an energy content of 362 kWh and has a range of up to 280 kilometers. The battery can be recharged in four hours at a charging station with an output of 75 kW.

The model is currently available with two different battery sizes (as of January 2020). A battery with 362 kWh is installed as standard in all buses, and a battery with 475 kWh (standard buses) or 544 kWh (articulated bus) is optionally available. The maximum motor power of the asynchronous central motor is 270 kW (standard buses) or 250 kW (articulated bus).

Ebusco 3.0

The Ebusco 3.0 was presented at Busworld 2019 , is said to be 33% lighter than its predecessor, Ebusco 2.2, and can travel up to 500 kilometers on battery charge. The Ebusco 3.0 is the first Ebusco model to be built entirely in the Netherlands. Production is scheduled to start in mid-2020.

The Ebusco 3.0 was awarded the Busworld Innovation Label in 2019 .
