Jan Frank Niemantsverdriet (also Jan Frank, born November 12, 1885 in Kalimaro ( West Jawa ), † August 29, 1945 in Batavia ) was a Dutch painter, draftsman, etcher and wood cutter who mostly worked in the Dutch East Indies .

The Niemantsverdriet family had lived in the Dutch East Indies since the end of the 18th century. Jan Frank Niemantsverdriet was born to a Dutchman and a Javanese woman.

He came to Amsterdam in 1907 , from 1908 to 1910 he studied at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague with Andries van den Berg (1852–1944), Frits Jansen (1856–1928) and Johan Joseph Aarts . In 1921 he returned to the Dutch East Indies and settled in Batavia. He married Carolina Marie Peltzer. He signed his works with "Jan Frank" or "JFN"

He painted landscapes, genre pictures, still lifes and portraits, etc. a. official portraits of the governors Bonifacius Cornelis de Jonge and Dirk Fock.

In Batavia he gave private painting lessons. In 1939 he was appointed curator of the National Art Collection.
