The e-Co-Motion is a concept vehicle from the commercial vehicle division of the Volkswagen Group . It is an electrically operated city delivery van that roughly fills the gap between the VW Caddy and the larger Transporter series in terms of size .
Technical specifications
drive
The vehicle is powered by a 50 kW (65 PS) electric motor that can briefly produce 85 kW (115 PS) and 270 Nm. The delivery van was designed for the “last mile” in city traffic, but can travel up to 120 km / h to cover shorter motorway and overland journeys to the delivery area. The modular traction battery is conceived in three versions (20/30/40 kWh) and thus enables ranges of 100, 150 and 200 km, depending on the application requirements.
Design
The design is reminiscent of a scaled-down T5, although the vehicle is based on its own platform that is divided into two parts. The drive train is installed completely under the floor. The engine and planetary gear are on the rear axle. This enables a turning circle of only 8.95 m. The accumulator plate is a static element of the body, which saves space and weight.
The upper part of the vehicle is designed to be purely “relevant for transport”. The loading volume is 4.6 m³, the largest possible payload 800 kg. Instead of the box, solutions for passenger transport, an open flatbed or a tank structure are possible with little effort.
interior
The interior is designed for logistical operations. The passenger seat can be folded up and the center console with the central computer can be moved to make it easier for the driver to enter through the passenger door. For this purpose, the gearshift lever was replaced by a rotary switch and a handbrake lever was omitted. As in the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Phantom, there is a tubular compartment in the driver's door from which an umbrella can be removed.
