The Scania Citywide LE ( Low Entry ) has replaced the Scania OmniLink since 2011 . This bus has a low entrance and a low-floor area (only) in the front part. The vehicle is designed in particular for inner-city and suburban routes, where (depending on national regulations) speeds of up to 100  km / h are permitted. The Citywide LE is available in several equipment variants and vehicle lengths. As an articulated bus , it has a length of 18.1 m. In addition to the engines mentioned above, a hybrid bus with a 150 kW electric motor (and a 184 kW / 250 PS diesel / biodiesel engine) is also marketed. This bus was presented to a broader public for the first time in September 2014 at the IAA Commercial Vehicles .

Citywide LF

The Scania Citywide LF ( Low Floor ) is consistently designed as a low-floor bus by dispensing with all platforms and elevations inside the vehicle and installing a transverse motor in the rear. This should enable a higher flow of passengers . It is therefore particularly suitable for inner-city traffic with short bus stops . Here, too, several equipment variants and vehicle lengths (including an 18 m long articulated bus) are available. The BVG in Berlin is currently using the prototype of a two-axle double - decker .

Citywide BEV

In 2017 the Scania Citywide BEV was presented to the public. The battery-electric powered bus is equipped with lithium-ion batteries and can optionally be charged both in the depot and with a pantograph while on the move. Scania specifies a range of 80 - 150 km. The aim is to start series production from 2020. An experiment on autonomous driving is also to begin in Stockholm in 2020.
