Cord Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
In 1964, teacher Glenn Pray founded the company in Tulsa , Oklahoma . He also owned the naming rights of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Corporation . The designer was Gordon Buehrig . The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Cord . Production ended in 1966 or 1967. Bankruptcy followed in 1967 . A total of 91 or 97 vehicles were built.
Elfman engine from Philadelphia , the radicals took over the company, but did not produce any vehicles. In 1968 it was taken over by the Sports Automobile Manufacturing Company from Mannford , Oklahoma.

The first model from 1964 to 1966 had the additional designation 810 or 8/10 as an allusion to the fact that it was an 8:10 reduction of a historic vehicle, and the model name Sportsman . It was a replica of the Cord 810 from the 1930s. The only body shape was a two-door and two-seater convertible , for which a hardtop was also available. The body consisted of Royalex - plastic . A six - cylinder boxer engine from the Chevrolet Corvair with an 87.4 mm bore , 74.7 mm stroke , 2687 cm³ displacement and, depending on the version, 110 hp to 150 hp power drove the front wheels. The vehicle was 424.8 cm long with a wheelbase of 254 cm.
