Splinter Auto Works Inc. was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded on September 8, 1980 in Lakeville , Indiana . Other sources mention Plymouth , Indiana. King Phillip Aitken is named as the founder. In 1982 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Splinter . Production ended in 1990. On April 20, 1992 the company was dissolved.

vehicles

Vehicles in the style of the 1930s to 1950s were on offer. They were station wagons and pick-ups . The structure consisted at least partially of wood and the fenders of fiberglass . A four-cylinder engine from the Chevrolet Chevette with a displacement of 1600 cm³ propelled the vehicles.
