Automecca , sometimes spelled AutoMecca , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Mike Hansen founded the company in Tujunga , California in 1973 . He began taking over a Brubaker project to manufacture automobiles. The brand name was Automecca . In 1977 the company moved to Chatsworth , California. Production ended in 1978. According to one source, 1,500 vehicles may have been built.

The Roamer Sport Van was a minivan . It was based on a chassis of Volkswagen . It was noticeable that the vehicle only had one door, namely a sliding door on the passenger side.

The Baja Box was a variant with increased off-road capability.
